From a “Thai classroom” to the stage of international collaboration — one of the experiences that has completely transformed my perspective as a teacher.

 Over the past few months, I have had the incredible opportunity to participate in the ASEAN–Australia BRIDGE School Partnerships Program — an international educational partnership initiative between ASEAN countries and Australia.

What makes me most proud is that Angsilapittayakom School was selected as a representative school from Thailand to build a partnership with Oxley College in Australia.

But what happened throughout this journey meant far more than just an “exchange program.”

Everything began when Australian teachers visited our school in Thailand. We did not simply want to “host international guests” — we genuinely wanted them to experience the real Thailand through our education system, students, teachers, local community, and culture.

Throughout the week, we collaboratively designed a Whole-School Collaboration experience that integrated:
• Cross-curricular learning
• Thai–Australian teacher collaboration and pedagogical exchange
• Thai cultural activities
• Open classroom experiences
• Student-centered collaboration
• And empowering Thai students to become learning leaders

One of the unforgettable moments for me was having the opportunity to welcome and meet H.E. Mr. Andrew Egan, Australian Ambassador to Thailand and Australian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific.

Perhaps the most meaningful image I will always remember was seeing our Thai students confidently acting as “English-speaking guides,” introducing Thai communities and culture to international guests.

At that moment, I truly felt that:

“Thai students are far more capable than many people think.”
And
“Thai education truly has the potential to stand proudly on the global stage.”

Later, I also had the opportunity to travel to Australia for a School Immersion experience at Oxley College, where I was able to witness another perspective of global education.

What I learned was not only about language or teaching techniques.

It was about:
• Building global competence
• Helping students see the wider world
• Developing intercultural understanding
• And using education to connect people together

Another unforgettable moment was having the honour to welcome and meet H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban, Ambassador of Thailand to Australia and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Canberra, Australia.

This experience reminded me that even the small things a teacher does in a classroom can create impacts far greater than we may ever imagine.

I wanted to share this story because I truly believe that:
“Thai teachers, Thai students, and Thai schools have world-class potential.”

And I hope this post may inspire other schools and educators to open their doors to international collaboration as well.

Because opportunities like this do not only transform the participants —

They truly transform the way we see the world.

From a Thai teacher… to the global stage of education.

จาก “ห้องเรียนไทย” สู่เวทีความร่วมมือระดับนานาชาติ — หนึ่งในประสบการณ์ที่เปลี่ยนมุมมองการเป็นครูของผมไปตลอดชีวิต

หลายเดือนที่ผ่านมา ผมมีโอกาสเข้าร่วม ASEAN–Australia BRIDGE School Partnerships Program โครงการความร่วมมือด้านการศึกษาระหว่างประเทศระหว่างอาเซียนและออสเตรเลีย

และสิ่งที่ผมภูมิใจที่สุด คือ โรงเรียนอ่างศิลาพิทยาคมได้รับคัดเลือกเป็นโรงเรียนตัวแทนจากประเทศไทย เพื่อสร้างความร่วมมือกับ Oxley College ประเทศออสเตรเลีย

แต่สิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นตลอดการเดินทางครั้งนี้ มีความหมายมากกว่า “โครงการแลกเปลี่ยน” มากจริง ๆ

ทุกอย่างเริ่มต้นจากวันที่ครูชาวออสเตรเลียเดินทางมาเยือนโรงเรียนของเราในประเทศไทย เราไม่ได้ต้องการเพียง “ต้อนรับแขกต่างประเทศ” แต่เราตั้งใจอยากให้เขาได้สัมผัส “ประเทศไทยจริง ๆ” ผ่านระบบการศึกษา นักเรียน ครู ชุมชน และวัฒนธรรมของเรา

ตลอดทั้งสัปดาห์ เราได้ร่วมกันออกแบบกิจกรรมแบบ Whole-School Collaboration ที่บูรณาการทั้งโรงเรียน ประกอบด้วย:
• การเรียนรู้ข้ามกลุ่มสาระ
• การแลกเปลี่ยนแนวคิดและวิธีสอนระหว่างครูไทย–ออสเตรเลีย
• กิจกรรมวัฒนธรรมไทย
• การเปิดห้องเรียนจริง
• การทำงานร่วมกับนักเรียน
• และการให้นักเรียนไทยเป็นผู้นำการเรียนรู้

หนึ่งในช่วงเวลาที่น่าประทับใจที่สุดสำหรับผม คือการมีโอกาสต้อนรับและพบกับ H.E. Mr. Andrew Egan อัครราชทูตออสเตรเลียประจำประเทศไทย และผู้แทนถาวรออสเตรเลียประจำคณะกรรมาธิการเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งสหประชาชาติประจำเอเชียและแปซิฟิก

และภาพที่ผมจะไม่มีวันลืม คือวันที่นักเรียนไทยของเรายืนทำหน้าที่เป็น “มัคคุเทศก์ภาษาอังกฤษ” อย่างมั่นใจ พาแขกต่างชาติเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับชุมชนและวัฒนธรรมไทย

วันนั้นผมรู้สึกอย่างแท้จริงว่า

“เด็กไทยเก่งกว่าที่หลายคนคิด”
และ
“การศึกษาไทยมีศักยภาพที่จะยืนอยู่บนเวทีโลกได้อย่างสง่างาม”

หลังจากนั้น ผมยังมีโอกาสเดินทางไปประเทศออสเตรเลีย เพื่อเข้าร่วม School Immersion ที่ Oxley College และได้เห็นอีกมุมหนึ่งของการศึกษาโลก

สิ่งที่ผมได้เรียนรู้ ไม่ใช่เพียงเรื่องภาษา หรือเทคนิคการสอน

แต่คือ:
• การสร้าง Global Competence
• การเปิดโลกทัศน์ให้กับนักเรียน
• การสร้างความเข้าใจระหว่างวัฒนธรรม
• และการใช้ “การศึกษา” เป็นสะพานเชื่อมผู้คนเข้าหากัน

อีกหนึ่งช่วงเวลาที่ผมไม่มีวันลืมเช่นกัน คือการได้มีโอกาสพบกับ H.E. Ms. Arjaree Sriratanaban เอกอัครราชทูตไทยประจำออสเตรเลีย และเอกอัครราชทูตวิสามัญผู้มีอำนาจเต็ม ณ กรุงแคนเบอร์รา ประเทศออสเตรเลีย

ประสบการณ์ครั้งนี้ทำให้ผมตระหนักว่า แม้สิ่งเล็ก ๆ ที่ครูคนหนึ่งทำในห้องเรียน ก็อาจสร้างผลกระทบที่ยิ่งใหญ่กว่าที่เราคิดได้มาก

ผมอยากแบ่งปันเรื่องนี้ เพราะผมเชื่ออย่างจริงใจว่า

“ครูไทย นักเรียนไทย และโรงเรียนไทย มีศักยภาพระดับโลก”

และผมหวังว่าโพสต์นี้ อาจเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้โรงเรียนหรือครูท่านอื่น กล้าที่จะเปิดประตูสู่ความร่วมมือระดับนานาชาติ

เพราะโอกาสแบบนี้ ไม่ได้เปลี่ยนเพียงผู้เข้าร่วม

แต่มันเปลี่ยน “วิธีที่เรามองโลก” ไปอย่างแท้จริง

หากในอนาคตมีครู โรงเรียน หรือผู้ที่สนใจสมัครเข้าร่วมโครงการ ASEAN–Australia BRIDGE Program หรือโครงการความร่วมมือระดับนานาชาติในลักษณะนี้ ผมยินดีแบ่งปันประสบการณ์และให้คำแนะนำอย่างเต็มที่

จากครูไทยคนหนึ่ง… สู่เวทีการศึกษาโลก
